Neuroscience – The Low Down on Goals

Motivation According to Forbes, in Achieve your Goals Faster, the reason we fail at achieving goals is due to 2 factors: your brain—and your blood pressure. Apparently, high blood pressure can help you keep goals on track! Emily Balcetis, a social psychologist from NYU, recently explained how properly set goals boosts our systolic blood pressure (SBP), which is the measurement of our body being geared up and ready to act. If the goal is easy to achieve we get a nice spike. If it’s moderately hard but seems like a feasible challenge (harder than easy) we get a larger spike and thus more excitement in the body and sympathetic nervous…

    Zap Your Tolerations

I hope today finds you well, happy and inspired. Mastery

Masterchef was crowned last week, The Masters the week before both are easy & useful observations of Mastery at work. Watching the journey from home cook to Masterchef Champion is always an interesting and enlightening one.  If you watch the initial chat & first round with the contestants, you can pick the likely contenders for the final. How I hear you asking, when they not yet masters of their craft, could that be observed? Here’s where it gets interesting, the skill level is usually pretty good, although not as yet masterful, what is masterful, is their mindset. How they understand and process their inner world as well as the…
