Transformational Team Cloud
This last weekend, here in the UK, it was The Great British Tennis Weekend, we went down to our local tennis club to enjoy some free tennis coaching and so this week Coaching Gym is tennis inspired, in part by Andy Murray’s recent wins on clay, he became the first Brit to win on clay for 70+ years!
When asked about what has enabled his success in tennis so far, his responses were thoughtful reflections on what exactly has taken him from runner up to champion. His response? Being brave enough to choose a transformational team, who do things differently, who complement his skill set, who create a learning environment, instilling in him a champions mindset, a compelling vision and a creative & flexible path to get there.
In light of that, below is your invitation, to take our 7 Team Tests.
7 Team Tests
On a scale of 1-10, rate your current team or a team you’d like to be a part of.
Champion Success – Always reward excellent performance in your team | organisation | family | self
Go Mining for Diamonds – Search for the lessons & learnings in each mistake or failure
Develop People – Create opportunities to develop those around you, by sharing interesting resources, articles, research or more formal training, coaching, mentoring
Cultivate a Positive Mindset – Instil a can-do attitude, which increases resilience, motivation, ability and success whilst reducing stress. Broaden & Build Theory.
Create a Clear & Compelling Vision – Keeping the vision so shiny & engaging, so that even on the foggiest of days it draws everyone in the right direction.
Remain Action Focussed – Chunking Goals, Quick Wins, Simple Successes, Clear R&R, Celebrations, Improvement Reviews ALL building momentum
Enable a Learning Environment – Allow Time for Reflection, Model Best Practice, Pursue Change, Mentor, Coach, Share Learnings, Improve Communication Skills
It is useful to take a measure of a current situation, create space for improvement and to explore how you might get there.
